For anyone unacquainted with the world of Harry Potter (is that even possible?), you might be pleased to learn that you can finally stop procrastinating from the 22-hour session/eight movie marathon.
While it’s thrilling to read and watch the Harry Potter story – worth over 4,200 pages long and movies that clock in at nearly 20 hours total – it’s hard to find the time to get through the entire story of ‘The Boy Who Lived’. Thankfully, someone has now made a supercut of all eight films (bless his soul) that has a runtime of just under 80 minutes.
Titled “Wizardhood” in a nod to Richard Linklater’s 12-year opus Boyhood, Tim Stiefler’s recut condenses the story of Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s action-packed time at Hogwarts down to just the most important moments, enough for you to comprehend everything that happened in the movie series. Compressed from The Sorcerer’s Stone all the way through to The Deathly Hallows — Part 2, the supercut paints a short and comprehensive picture of Harry, Ron and Hermione’s quest to defeat Voldemort.
It might not be the ideal way for Potterheads to consume such an iconic movie series, but those who haven’t caught up with the entire series will be relieved to find out that they can do it in under 80 minutes.
