2017 was off to a momentous start – the 74th Golden Globe Awards bedazzled viewers with its star-studded glamour and silky silhouettes of Versace, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen and the likes. Amidst the anticipation and excitement of the awards, our eyes were transfixed on Emma Stone, who stars in Hollywood musical La La Land (which bagged all 7 of its nominated awards). Here are some of our favourite Emma Stone looks which we’d like to cast in, well, stone. We also took the liberty to put together similar looks that won’t break the bank. After all, high fashion doesn’t need to be intimidating, inaccessible, or impractical.
Emma has worn Valentino multiple times in the past, but this dreamy, star-embellished dusty pink gown outshines the rest. She pairs it with a 1909 Tiffany & Co. choker and a simple updo and try as we might to fight it, we are completely mesmerized.

Emma Stone looks sleek in an androgynous tuxedo gown by Christian Dior at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The mesh panel adds a subtle – yet contrasting – hue of femininity that conveniently draws attention to her Christian Louboutin ‘Gardnera’ peep-toe heels. The outfit comes to life with her bright red lips, nails and hair. Emma Stone tests the boundaries of androgyny in this ensemble without looking outlandish, and shows us that haute couture and style aren’t synonymous with femininity (as oft-seen in the media).
There isn’t a more apt time to revisit her 2015 Golden Globes outfit. She sash-ayed down the red carpet in a riveting Lanvin jumpsuit, complete with a hand-beaded bodice and oversized bow sash. Like her stylist Petra Flannery says, if anyone can pull off trousers on the red carpet, it’s Emma Stone.
This look needs no introduction. This Atelier Versace gown was the source of inspiration for her canary yellow dress in La La Land. It’s bold, bright and an unconventional choice for the red carpet. The clean cut of the dress exudes elegance and seamlessly balances out the shock factor of the colour. In 2017, take a leaf out of Emma’s book and swap out the neutrals and monochrome for sultry, confident colours. You just might surprise yourself.
Emma Sto(l)e all our hearts when she stepped out in this full-pink Thakoon ensemble at the Met Ball in 2014. The blush pink tones are girly with a youthful charm, but kept edgy with cut-outs and a high slit.
Yes, that is a picture of Emma Stone grocery shopping in Malibu. No, we’re not kidding. In view of the new uni/school term (and post-Christmas feasting), elevate your casual look with layers, a jumper and slouchy cargo pants. It’s effortlessly coherent, and may score extra brownie points with your tutor for that studious vibe.
What’s better than Emma Stone on the red carpet? Emma Stone 12ft tall onscreen, of course. This playful number and youthful colour inject vibrance into a casual dress – doesn’t matter if you’re 16 or long past those days, the versatility of this dress takes you anywhere from marathon-shopping to a romantic picnic date. Your imagination is the limit.
