M.A.C x Steve J. & Yoni P.

M.A.C cosmetics recently released their limited edition collection with Korean designers Steve J. & Yoni P., and the Foxesden team was there to attend the public launch event.

If you’re not already in the know, Steve J. & Yoni P. are a husband-and-wife fashion design team that have been leading the Seoul fashion scene since they started back in 2007. Their brand has also gone global in recent years, with their items being stocked at major retailers worldwide.

From the chat that we had with the makeup artist at the launch event, the collection was created with Asian skin in mind. However, what sets the collection apart from regular Korean beauty brands is the availability of colours and shades that are also suitable for Asians with darker skin.

The collection takes inspiration from Asian beauty trends, such as the use of cushion foundations, and the popularity of bright pinks, corals, and red. A makeup demonstration was conducted to show how the products could be used to create a gradient lip effect, and the current trend of a horizontal blush.

The packaging greatly reflects the designer duo’s quirky aesthetics – combining a mixture of bubblegum pink with graphic art, exuding feminine charms while being bold at the same time.

Key items in the collection include 4 lipsticks (Spotlight Me, Yoni Crush, Candy Yum Yum & A Killing Smile), 2 blushes (Peony Petal & Sugar or Syrup), and 2 eyeshadow duos (Touch Me Baby & Midnight Fever). There is also a multi-use palette, Yoni Attraction, that has 6 cream products, suitable for use on the eyes, cheeks, and lips.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on these products, head on down to your nearest M.A.C store to snap them up before they’re gone!
