Through her music, it feels as though we already know Linying like a close friend. Her songs are quietly intimate and earnest, her lyrics wax poetic, nestling themselves between our ribs without pomp or pageantry, like rightfully taking a place long reserved for it. From Alpine to Paris 12, her vocals are gripping with a certain transcendental regality to them. It’s a spectacular symbiosis between the listener and the singer – she reveals and gives and compels, and in return we take and stretch and concede.
In this interview, we find out more about Linying as she contemplates pizza, movies and guilty pleasures.
